I don’t know who came up with this idea, or why Mary J. Blige is still relevant, but this has got to be the most painfully awkward videos to come across the internet in a long time.
If it’s not your child or your birthday, someone singing in front of you is already awkward.
When it’s a song about police brutality, that was presumably made up on the spot, and Mary J. and Hillary are the only two people in the entire room- you’ve just created the perfect storm of awkward.
This whole video is like a car crash, you just can’t look away…
You have Mary singing what sounds like a children’s informative sing-a-long, that includes every possible situation she can think of that might occur during a routine traffic stop.
Then a quick pan over to Hillary, and you have her glaring with those cold dead eyes as if she’s not quite sure how she got into this, but she knows she has to stick it out for the black vote.
What a terrible mess.
Oh, and as you can imagine, the Twitter world destroyed Mary J. Blige for this painful video.
